Ah! The restored painting/photo piece had stuck with me since that night. Reading the explanation under the image on flickr supplied me the proper context for it. Thanks!
This event still resonates with me. I think of how in New Orleans an art of relational dynamics has very naturally grown out of the circumstance, how it seems a very true way to build and care for community. The Neighborhoods projects are a perfect example of this collective voice-ing. Plus how much fun is it to listen to Panorama Jazz Band in a gutted house while the sun goes down? A lot of fun ...
